Panama City Airport Earns International Award

For most visitors to Panama City, the first point of contact with the city and its culture is Tocumen International Airport, the country’s primary airport. If you are thinking of  buying a second home or investing in real estate, the experience starts in the entrance terminals of Tocumen.

With that in mind, it’s gratifying to see that Panama City’s airport is starting to receive international recognition for its services. This week Tocumen was named best airport in Central America and the Caribbean in the World Airport Awards, based on an independent survey by Skytrax, an advisory firm.

Perhaps even more impressively, Tocumen was also praised for having the Best Airport Staff in Central America. That is a key factor for all of us in Panama City who are working hard to make the city a friendly, efficient service oriented environment for both visitors and residents.

Tocumen is only part of the progressive infrastructure found in Panama City, but it’s a key link. And it’s great to see it is being recognized for meeting international expectations. The airport is only a short 20 minute drive from Punta Pacifica. If they leave the airport with a good feeling, then we know at Punta Pacifica Realty we can keep them smiling when they arrive at their luxury waterfront apartment.

To make it clear, the World Airport Awards is not one of those made up awards that companies pay to win. The awards are 15 years old and this year Skytrax received more than 13 million completed surveys from travelers. Airports were rated on a wide variety of performance standards, from check-in and arrival standards to signage and transportation options.

Congratulations to everyone involved in Tocumen. At PPR we join in the quest for quality and we hope to continue to live up to the highest international standards of excellence and service.
