Competition Launched to Design Panama Logo

Panama’s Ministry of Commerce has launched an open competition to design Panama’s new “Made in Panama” seal.
According to the Ministry, any Panamanian over the age of 18 is eligible to contribute an entry. Participants can enter individually or as a team; the winning design will receive $15,000.
This is a great idea and a perfect opportunity to tap into Panamanian talent. And it’s another example of a young country creating experiences for the population.
The “Made in Panama” symbol appears on all homegrown products and quickly identifies Panamanian-produced products around the world. In addition to packaging, it appears on display cases, digital platforms and institutional actions.
“We want a seal that is a source of pride, that inspires people to consume our products, and that projects the best of Panama,” said Minister of Commerce and Industry Julio Moltó.
“And we know that this design is in the mind of a Panamanian who can make it a reality today… and win a great prize for it.”
More than a logo, the Ministry is looking for a visual story that represents the country. The emblem is meant to highlight Panama’s “quality, identity, and talent.”
The new logo “won’t be an imposed symbol, but rather one designed collectively by those who best know the soul of Panama: its people,” the Ministry said. Registration is open until Sept. 15 at https://concurso.mici.gob.pa/.
The winning design will be announced on Oct. 15.
