Work Progressing on Punta Pacifica Shopping and Office Complex

Construction continues to move forward on Pacific Center, the multi-purpose shopping center and commercial complex that will add a new dimension to Punta Pacifica.

Any visitor to the area is familiar with the site, which is adjacent to the 99 Supermarket shopping center, bordered by Via Brasil and Corridor Sur, on the edge of Punta Pacifica. Developer Grupo Corcione is building a modern mixed used development, with retail space, 60,000-square-meters of offices and a 240-room executive-level hotel.

From the renderings, the project looks like something out of Beverly Hills. The architecture is sleek and modern, with the tallest building rising to 30 stories. The boutique shopping center will offer 40 shops, and the project will include a spa and gym.

I recently visited the project offices to see if I could learn more about the status. At this point, they still expect construction to be completed in 2016, I was told. They are still not ready to start leasing commercial space, but that process might ramp up as early as three months.

This is exciting news. With high-end offices and a wide array of shopping, Pacific Center will be a huge addition to Punta Pacifica residents, adding a significant player to the luxury choices already in place.

Everything about the development projects the quality and luxury that is defining the Punta Pacifica neighborhood. It also brings a modern planning sensibility to the neighborhood, with more then 2800 parking spaces. And there is an efficient circulation system for traffic, with easy entrance and exits, providing the type of sophisticated, integrated development that is still new to Panama City.

I think I join everyone in the Punta Pacifica community in eagerly awaiting the completion of this tremendous project. More images and information on Pacific Center can be found here.
