More Flights, More Reach

Copa Airlines expects to increase its capacity by 14% in 2026, carry 20.9 million passengers, and add more than 2,100 direct jobs in Panama over the next four years.

On paper, it is an airline expansion story. In practice, it is another reminder of how much of Panama’s broader appeal still runs through connectivity.

Copa plans to grow from 370 daily flights to 500 by 2029, while continuing to expand its fleet and route network. By the end of 2026, the airline expects to operate 121 aircraft, with more deliveries still ahead. That keeps Panama in the position it knows best: a place people pass through, connect through, and increasingly choose to stop in.

The effects rarely stay inside the airport. More flights mean a stronger tourism story, a more active business environment, and more visibility for Panama among travelers and investors deciding where to spend time and capital.

That also tends to widen the map. Better air access does not only reinforce Panama City. It supports the broader ecosystem around the country’s beach, mountain, and lifestyle markets, all of which depend in some way on how easy Panama feels to reach.

Panama has always had the geography. Copa remains one of the clearest reasons that geography keeps turning into opportunity.
