Central America’s ‘Most Stunning Coastal Country’

Islands magazine is out with a new feature spotlighting Panama as the answer for people “searching for a seaside Shangri-La that doesn’t break the bank.”

Author Anna Smith was new to Panama and described what most visitors already knew. She describes Panama as “Central America’s tropical paradise,” and found a new appreciation for the spectacular beaches available.

Smith was focused on budget travel, and Panama is a tremendous opportunity for budget travelers.

“Panama boasts one of the lowest costs of living in the world, and is just as friendly on tourists’ wallets as well,” Smith writes in the article headlined, “Central America’s Most Stunning Coastal Country Full Of Pristine Beaches Is An Affordable Tropical Getaway.”

Most importantly, it also has the beautiful stretches of white sandy beach required for a top tropical destination that you want to call Shangri-la.

“On top of a rich history and layered culture, it also has some of the best beaches in the region,” Smith writes. “It’s thin, long geography means that you could even wake up on a Pacific beach and, with just an hour’s drive, fall asleep on a Caribbean one.”

She notes Panama is a small country, “so getting around is easy and affordable. For the cost-conscious traveler, public transportation options are ‘convenient and budget-friendly,’ making it easy to beach hop.

“It’s amazing the kind of beauty and culture you can experience in Panama on such a low budget,” Smith writes.

Smith spotlights the spectacular beaches on the Pacific Coast in western Panama, but she didn’t hear about the 7-mile stretch of white sand beach that is attracting the attention of international property investors. Read more about Playa Caracol.
