In Panama, the Christmas season has a different feel than up north, where the holidays are full of snow and crackling fires. The sunny skies and beaches often seem about as far away as you can get from the postcard images of Christmas.

But the spirit can be found everywhere in Panama City, which is filled with decorations and holiday events. Panama is a deeply religious country and the season is celebrated in style and with deep faith.

Yet, there is no doubt that the Christmas experience in Panama is nothing like traditional Christmas experience. Many families in Panama City take the opportunity to head to the beaches or Panama’s spectacular islands. The pace of the city slows down, just for a few days.

I think we can all appreciate the break from the hustle and stress of our daily lives. This is a good time of year to reflect and appreciate on all that we have.
