Where is Copa Flying Next?
Copa Airlines continues to add new destinations, expanding the connections between Panama City and the world.
They are not always big destinations, but it is always fun to see where you can fly to nonstop from Panama City. At this point, Copa flies to more than 80 destinations, a constantly expanding menu of exotic and exciting locations that can be reached without changing planes.
For example, this month, Copa added a direct flight to Tucumán, Argentina, a northern province known for its “nature, culture, and tradition.” Called the “Cradle of Independence,” the region is known for wineries, mountainous landscapes, and picturesque towns.
We did some research and found that Copa is about to launch several new flights. Here’s the scoop on the new destinations.
In December, Copa plans to launch a new service to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, one of the most popular beach destinations on the Pacific Coast. Flights will be offered on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, according to Copa’s website.
Several destinations are slated to be added in January 2026, including Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Panama has plenty of beautiful beach destinations, but Puerto Plata would certainly be an exotic getaway, including a visit to the regional capital, San Felipe de Puerto Plata.
Copa is also planning to relaunch service to a couple of destinations. Starting on Jan. 7, Copa will resume flights to the colorful colonial city of Salvador, Brazil. With flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, you can wake up in Panama City and be working on your samba that evening.
Copa will also relaunch service to another Dominican Republic destination, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The country’s first capital before a catastrophic earthquake in 1562, Santiago is known as “Ciudad Corazón,” or the city in the heart of the Cibao Valley.
Panama City is truly the Hub of the Americas, and the ability to catch a plane to 32 countries on any given day is one of the real perks of living in Panama.
